Hi angusman and welcome to the Forum.
Not sure where you're from but for hanging on the beach, lunch, dinner and a couple of beers $50AUD a day would be enough.
Hiring surfboards will cost anywhere between 5 - 20 000rp ($1 - $3AUD approx.) per hour or as long as you wanted depending on who you're dealing with. The longer you hire the cheaper the rate should/will be.

You're not gonna need much per day to do that. I'd say garry above, is on the mark.

Wish I could limit myself to doing just that. hahhaa

If you spend your nights in some clubs down Legian st etc..or at Waves or DJ club, you will need at least double that. Especially if you're treating your body like an amusement park until dawn like us clowns did..
the sprits prices can add up quickly but nowhere near as exy as back in Oz.
If you are going on tours like Bike rides, white water or ocean rafting, Quads and other daytrips - these can add be from 50 to 90aud just on their own.
If you swan around on the beach all day with nanna naps and cups of green tea before you go to bed at 9pm like Gazza does, then $50AUD might even scrape you through 2 days

I like stacking my bank account before I leave so I can enjoy the brief stint as a multi-millionaire. Never have gotten over the temporary joy those ATM receipts bring

But seriously, I can usually survive quite nicely on about $100 a day ... if I was 'lazing', less

$100 a day for me is sufficient, even when buying dinner and drinks for friends.
