There are places selling watches all thru legian and kuta. there are pretty much the same ones as u buy on the beach and are at the same price - about 40 000 for a basic watch. garlice lane has a fair few shops and around near ketuts fixed price has some decent shops, and then shops along poppies 2 if u are in the kuta area

There is a small chain of stores called Bagus Watch. They sell some budget and high quality watches that range from $8.00 to over $200.00. There are other stores scattered around Kuta- Seminyak also selling better quality than the beach sellers, and the department stores have a good range as Paul stated.

sorry Davo the last 2 watches the wench has brought from him have turned to sh-t within a couple of weeks.Years ago most or the street watches lasted many years but not now, go to your local servo and their cheap watches are the same price as Bali and normally last longer

Alas a watch I bought from Bagus watches lost the small rod that holds watch linkages together and they wouldn,t- couldn't help replace it. The watch is now useless. Timer part still works Cheers Sally

Mark, shame to hear. I know that the cheap watch batteries do not cope with aeroplanes. I replace the battery when home and good as new.

What ,your saying that they have fake brand name watches in Bali. So all my Omegas,Rolexs ect could be fakes. Hope not cause at times i have paid up to $6.00 Aussie dollars for them. All my dreams are shattered.Hope none of my drinking buddies back home read this cause they thought i was a real big spender.

Closer inspection may reveal that they are, in fact, Omaga's and Rolox's... I know, I was shocked too!

I bought a Swiss Army World watch off a seller behind the Jayakarta while sitting having a cold one at Franks Bar cost me all of 50,000rp he had this big box with Honest 2Bob watch on it . Had to put a new Battery in a few weeks ago but still keeps good time no degredation in the back plate like i have seen on other so called stainless steel backs in fact it looks as good as the day i bought it maybe i just got lucky or he had a "cough" supply of the genuine article .

we bought a swiss army one each and love them. had to replace the battery which cost me more than the watch, but they are a good looking blokes watch. matching watches, how cute! bought them out the back of the jaya as well, not sure which seller though. i have found that the watches generally, either last 5 minutes, or 20 years! barb

We brought a "rolex" for my father and he was concerned when wearing it about two things. 1 - that he would get mugged here in Australia by someone wanting to steal his Rolex. 2 - That the same person who mugged him for his watch would realise it was a fake and come back and slug him again because it was fake.
It is still going strong after 18 months, I think he has changed the batteryonce though.

I worked at garden centres, which was pretty hard on watches, water, dirt etc and found the Bali watches fantastic they lasted surprisingly well to all the punishment and because they were so cheap I didn't care how badly I treated them but I gave up buying them over the last few years cos the quality was too poor.
My Mum loved her diamond rolex too

What a good idea.. But if I was backpacking, I wouldn't be wearing expensive looking jewellery .. Tends to attract unwanted attention..
